In these troubled times, marked by the return of war to the gates of Europe, the French Archery Federation (FFTA) joins the reactions of the sporting world by strongly condemning the Russian invasion in Ukraine and affirms its wish to see a diplomatic solution intervene to “give peace a chance” in the words of Thomas Bach, President of the IOC.
Archery reacted quickly to the situation and following the recommendations of the IOC, the Executive Board of World Archery, of which Jean-Michel Cléroy, the president of the FFTA, is a member, announced a series of measures against of Russia and Belarus.

No athlete, team official or technical official from Russia or Belarus will be permitted to participate in any international archery event until further notice.

The two countries will not be able to host or apply for the organization of international events.

The flags and anthems of both countries are removed.
The federation welcomes the positions taken by World Archery and will apply all of these measures.
The FF Archery also sends all its support and solidarity to the Ukrainian people and in particular to the members of the Ukrainian archery team. The federation calls for an end to fighting and a return to peace between nations.
