Werder Bremen: When will Ömer Toprak be fit again? That is the plan!

Bremen – And suddenly there was someone on the training ground of SV Werder Bremen who had not yet been expected there: Ömer Toprak. Together with rehabilitation trainer Marcel Abanoz, the injured captain completed a 15-minute program, which, according to Clemens Fritz, was no indication of an earlier Toprak comeback. “The fact that he was back on the pitch for the first time recently as part of his individual rehabilitation was a completely normal part of his program,” says Werder’s head of professional football in an interview with DeichStube – and states: “It’s still difficult to say when he’s coming back.”

Omer Toprak been suffering from one for a few weeks calf injury and should be very carefully rebuilt, and then, if possible, in the hot final phase of the season again for the SV Werder Bremen to be able to intervene. After a similar injury, the 32-year-old completed his rehabilitation in Leverkusen in the past. This time he stays in Bremen, as head coach Ole Werner recently explained. There, Toprak’s recovery is apparently progressing as expected. “Ömer’s rehab is going according to plan,” says Fritz – and he now also provides units in the fresh air.

Werder Bremen: When will Ömer Toprak be back after his injury? – That’s the situation with Mitchell Weiser

A little faster than Omer Toprak it could, however, with the return of Mitchell Weiser walk. His injury, initially diagnosed as a muscle bundle tear in the adductor area, seems to be more harmless than initially thought. “Mitch’s injury might not be that bad,” says Fritz. A use in the upcoming home game of SV Werder Bremen against SV Sandhausen (Sunday, 1.30 p.m. in the Deichtube live ticker) is “not yet an issue” for the 27-year-old. (dco)
