the Players Championship is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tournaments of the year, but this 2022 edition is already spoiled by the weather. Despite the efforts of the organizers, bad weather, thunderstorms are too strong above Ponte Vedra Beach to allow play to continue as normal. After two interruptions on Thursday, during the first day, this Friday is thus disrupted again.
The players got off to a good start this morning, early, around 7:30 a.m. local time, but after four hours of play, everyone had to be sent back to the locker room. The whole field has still not finished the first round… And this despite the efforts of the course maintenance teams and the ubiquitous squeegees to “wipe up” stagnant water on the greens.

Scheffler still there
At the time of the interruption, Tommy Fleetwood and Tom Hoge were still in the lead at -6, a card signed the day before by both players. The American Brice Garnett had just joined them at this mark.
