Atletico Madrid moved up to fourth place in the Spanish League standings, after beating Real Betis in week 27 of LaLiga. Los Colchoneros won 3-1 over Los Verdiblancos.
Playing at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, Seville, Monday (7/3/2022) early morning WIB, Atletico immediately took the lead quickly. Joao Felix gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the second minute.
Real Betis hit back before the break. Cristian Tello made it 1-1 in first-half injury time.
Only in the second half, Atletico could make an additional goal. Goals from Joao Felix and Thomas Lemar ensured Diego Simeone’s side won 3-1 over Real Betis.
The victory makes Atletico maintain the competition in the top four positions. Atletico now has 48 points, moving up to fourth place overtaking Real Betis, who have dropped to fifth with 46 points from 27 matches.

The course of the match
The game has only been two minutes running, Atletico immediately lead 1-0. Joao Felix was able to break into the Betis goal, with a right foot kick in front of goal, using Angel Correa’s bait.
Left behind to make the host try to get up. Several threats were spread by Cristian Tello, who came on for the injured Andres Guardado, and Victor Ruiz, but to no avail.
In the 30th minute, Betis almost equalized the score. Marc Bartra’s header, utilizing Joaquin’s free-kick pass, was still thinly sideways from the Atletico goal.
Atlético had a hard time dealing with Betis’ pressure. The defending champion presented minimal opportunities in the first round.
Until finally, Betis equalized the score in first-half injury time. Cristian Tello broke Jan Oblak’s goal through a left footed shot from outside the penalty box. Score 1-1 closed the game at half-time.
In the second half, Betis pressed Atletico again. Tello had two golden opportunities in the 49th minute, using Nabil Fekir’s pass, but failed to get into the net after being pushed over by Oblak.
Goal! Atletico actually made a surprise after being able to make their second goal. In the 61st minute, Joao Felix was able to put the visitors ahead again to 2-1, after his shot went into the Betis goal.
Betis try to equalize the score again. Tello, William Carvalho and Victor Ruiz spread several chances, but none of them went into the net. On the other hand, it was Atletico who could keep away their advantage.
Thomas Lemar scored Betis’ goal in the 80th minute. Using Antoine Griezmann’s bait, the Atletico midfielder had no trouble getting the ball into the net through a flick of his left foot. Score 3-1.
In the remaining time of the game, no goals were created. Atletico won over Betis with a score of 3-1.
