Before the important away game at FC Augsburg, Kohfeldt can no longer lead the training for the time being. After there was a corona case in the family environment, the 39-year-old’s quick test also worked. A PCR test then brought certainty. According to the club, Kohfeldt “went into quarantine at home in advance and had no contact with the coaching staff or the team”.

It is possible that VfL will have to do without their head coach on the sidelines next Sunday (3.30 p.m., LIVE! at kicker). Wolfsburg play at FC Augsburg, five points away, and could take a big step towards staying up in the league with a win.

Vincent Heilmann will initially be in charge of the training. However, the assistant coach has to do without his colleague Michael Frontzeck, who will not be available until the end of the season after a surgical procedure on his face. The veteran is expected to return to the coaching staff for the new season.
