Will he be at the start? Will he be absent? Bookmakers around the world aren’t quite sure which foot to dance to when it comes to Tiger Woods’ appearance at the Augusta Masters just over a month away in Georgia and still peg him among the possible winners.
According to the latest statements from the Tiger, it is very unlikely that he will be able to defend his chances at the Mastersa tournament he has won 5 times in the past.
He will take part in the dinner on Tuesday evening and perhaps in the par 3 contest on Wednesday but his physical condition should not allow him to line up in the tournament.
In effect, Woods reckons he can’t walk the 18 holes of a course yet. So repeating this circuit 6 times, counting the two days of training, is not currently envisaged by the 46-year-old player.
This does not prevent online betting sites from continuing to offer Tiger’s victory in the first major of the season.
50/1 in France, 100/1 in the US
Admittedly, his rating, which oscillates around 50/1 (UNIBET, WINAMAX or PARIONS SPORT), is very far from that of his great years, but it is less interesting than that of other players, rather in shape and above all able to earn every week on the PGA Tour !
Across the Atlantic, the victory of the Tiger is listed at +15,000 (150/1) when that of Jon Rahm, the No. 1 favorite, is 8.4/1. It seems more realistic except that a success of Max Homa is estimated less likely +16,500 (165/1). In France, its rating varies around 70/1.
