American Scottie Scheffler won the Dell Technologies World Golf Championship single hole tournament on Sunday in Austin, Texas, defeating his compatriot Kevin Kisner in the final.
Scheffler stalled three birdies while his opponent settled for par and took advantage of a bogey from Kisner to build a four-stroke lead with three pennants remaining.
By virtue of this victory, the 25-year-old man became the new world number 1 in golf. He thus dislodges the Spaniard Jon Rahm.
Earlier Sunday, Scheffler defeated Dustin Johnson in the semifinals. He thus signs his third triumph on the PGA Tour and a very first in the World Championships.
The Canadian Corey Conners also signed an excellent result. Beaten by Kisner in the semi-finals, he defeated Johnson in a third-place clash. A birdie at 17e pennant allowed him to extend his lead to three strokes and put an end to hostilities.
He previously squandered his ticket to the final with two ill-timed bogeys at 14e and 17e holes facing Kisner.
