Yarmolenko, goal, victory, excitement and tears at West Ham – Aston Villa

In Ukrainian Andrí Yarmolenko, West Ham strikerhis emotions piled up at the stadium in London, where he became the protagonist for his decisive participation in the victory againstthe Aston Villa (2-1) and the tension accumulated by the situation in his country by the invasion of Russia.

The West Ham player appeared on the pitch in the first minutes of the second half, in the 52nd minute. He replaced Jamaican Michail Antonio.

The game was close to savage at times, and Aston Villa’s David Moyes couldn’t finish off that great move by Aston Villa.

The Ukrainian’s great moment came in the 70th minute, when he received a pass from the Algerian Said Benrahma and from the penalty spot beat the Argentine Emiliano Martínez.

His goal relieved the London team. Yarmolenko scored. He couldn’t stand the excitement. He went to one side of the field and got on his knees, looked up at the sky, and burst into tears. He covered his face with his hands as much of his companions hugged him.

It was the Ukrainian’s first goal this season. A goal he celebrated in a special way and with which he found relief for all that his country is experiencing due to the invasion of Russia. The player received the warmth of the London stadium stands and the affection of his teammates.
