While the war is in full swing in Ukraine, the world of sport is mobilizing via messages of peace or donations. Other Ukrainian sportsmen do not hesitate to take up arms in Kiev or elsewhere.

If the sports family stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people, some do so less according to Andriy Yarmolenko. In a video posted on Instagram, the West Ham striker directly tackles the players of the Russian national team, whom he accuses of remaining silent despite the attacks carried out by their country. “I have a question for the players of the Russian national team: guys, why are you sitting like idiots and not saying anything? In my country they kill people, women, mothers, our children. But you don’t say anything, you don’t make any comments…”

The 32-year-old then personally targets Zenit striker Artem Dzyuba. “So guys, you have influence over people, show it, I’m asking you, please! I know some of you like to show your necks on camera (a celebration of Dzyuba, editor’s note) but now is the time to show your real life assholes.”

The Ukrainian international has also decided to donate 90,000 euros to his country’s army.
