2nd league: Austria Lustenau laughs again from the top

In the lower region of the table, the Steyr side got a 1-0 (0-0) home win over the Young Violets. The Upper Austrians improved to twelfth place, the Austria juniors are now penultimate. Bottom FC Juniors OÖ got a 2:2 (0:1) against SV Horn. SV Lafnitz won against Kapfenberg SV 3:2 (2:2).

Haris Tabakovic, who switched to Wiener Austria in the summer, was Lustenau’s match winner. The center forward scored in the tenth minute and gave his team a perfect start. The Vorarlbergers then presented themselves more solid. Tabakovic had the chance from the penalty point after he was knocked down by Lukas Deinhofer and Amstettner saw yellow-red for it. However, the Swiss failed to SKU keeper Dennis Verwuster (60th).

Haris Tabakovic became the match winner for Lustenau with two goals

Shortly thereafter, Tabakovic’s 24th goal of the season was still perfect. He scored from close range (65′) after opponent Marco Stark had hit the ball. Deep in added time, a second player in Amstetten, Sebastian Dirnberger, had to leave the field after a foul with red (96′).

Happy draw for FAC

The FAC ran behind a deficit in Innsbruck. Seo Jong Min gave Wacker the lead with a free kick after 15 minutes, after that the guests were almost only dangerous from set pieces. The Tyroleans helped to equalize. A bad attempt at clearance fell in front of Martin Rasner, whose shot was only insufficiently parried by goalkeeper Alexander Eckmayr, Flavio Dos Santos (60th) dusted off.

Exclusions followed here and there. First of all, Wacker’s Marco Holz had to leave the field after two yellow cards within a few minutes (63′), then Rasner also left early after the second warning (76′). Innsbruck were even closer to victory in the finish: Rami Tekir hit the top of the bar from a distance in the 86th minute. This ended a series for FAC after seven wins in a row in the league.

Filip makes Steyr cheer

Oliver Filip (46th) scored decisively for Steyr shortly after the break. It was the third win in the last four rounds for Vorwarts. Alexander Michlmayr saved the Juniors from defeat against Horn with his late goal in the 89th minute. Stefan Radulovic had previously scored the goal for the young LASK players after Horn had already led 2-0 through goals from Denizcan Cosgun (42nd) and Frank Sturing (50th).

In the end, Lafnitz celebrated the 3-2 victory after an own goal by Lukas Walchhutter (69th). Kapfenberg was outnumbered for more than half of the game after Karlo Lalic (42nd) received a yellow card. After the first half hour it was 2:2, with Lafnitz scoring the first two goals.
