650 people from 24 countries participated
[아시아타임즈=김민근 기자] Suncheon City announced that it will hold the ‘Korea Open’ Badminton Championship 2022 at Palma Gymnasium from the 5th to the 10th.
The Korea Open, which started in 1991, is Korea’s representative major-level international competition and is classified as a World Tour Super 500 by the International Badminton Federation (BWF), and is broadcast live around the world through the BWF.
As this Korea Open Badminton Championship is held for the first time in three years since it was held in Incheon in 2019, about 650 players with the best skills from 24 countries compete for their skills.
Lee Yong-dae, a legend of Korean badminton and 6-time winner of the men’s doubles at the Korea Open badminton tournament, teamed up with Kim Jae-hyun to challenge the record of winning the Korean Open 7 times.
Suncheon City Choir Concert ‘Dongcheon, Walking the Flower Road’
From April 5 to 7, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, Suncheon City will hold the concert ‘Dongcheon, Walking the Flower Road’ by the Suncheon Municipal Choir along the Dongcheon River.
On the 5th and 7th, the concert will be held on the side of Dongcheon in front of the Beni Sharp Cafe, and on April 6th, on the stage in front of the e-Pyeonhan Sesang Apartment in Yongdang-dong, from 12:20 to 13:00, the performance will be held for about 40 minutes.
It consists of a variety of genres such as classical music and songs, with a focus on mixed chorus, male and female ensembles, and solo songs.
Cheongmyeong-Korean food forest fire prevention special alert posture
The city of Suncheon entered into a special alert posture to prevent wildfires and preemptively respond to large-scale fires in celebration of Cheongmyeong and Korean food.
To prevent forest fires, the city strengthens monitoring by intensively arranging forest fire monitoring personnel in areas with a lot of traffic, hiking trails, and parks and cemeteries, etc.
In particular, 71 public officials and forest fire watchers designated areas responsible for handling fires with a high risk of forest fires, such as illegal incineration of paddy fields and agricultural by-products, and cooking by wild vegetable harvesters, and focus on prevention and control activities.
