Police have accused a 38-year-old man of the offense.
The German Football Federation (DFB) has also decided to apply a probationary period to Bochum until the end of next season. If such violations are repeated, the club will have to close part of the stands.
The club must also improve its surveillance systems by the end of this year.
Bochum has been fined another 15,000 euros for three more incidents in which spectators threw beer glasses at the square.
“Bochum” called for the match to be replayed, because in the opinion of the club, no one can be blamed for the person who legally bought a glass of beer. However, the head of the sports court, Stefan Oberholz, noted that the DFB rules clearly state that clubs are liable for the misconduct of their fans.
After 29 rounds, Bochum is ranked 12th in the Bundesliga standings table.
