A goal. That was enough for the Alcione Academy to close the championship at first place. A goal. So much was granted by an opponent who had less demands from the standings, but who did not fear confrontation for the entire duration of the race. Let’s start from the beginning, from a first half without goals but still full of opportunities. The first of which for the hosts, just two minutes after the kick-off, with a shot from outside Donnarumma closed, however, by the glove of Paglioli. Minutes follow in which the two teams face off open face. Atletico Alcione pushes along the flanks with Teixeirense e Capassoalso breaking through central streets with Donkeys e Damioli. But the Alcione Academy is well covered by the interventions of Barbato, also finding space to attack, and in the final minutes he obtained several opportunities with Donnarumma’s shots from outside the area, one of which was printed in full on the crossbar. A narrow defeat and a performance worthy of the match. The coach of Pro Novate, Marco Impagnatiello, however, feels more than satisfied with his team. “I am proud of them. They gave everything, they played great, we knew we were playing against the first in the standings but they never gave up. This year I aimed to prepare them for the following year: for the competitive spirit, so I have always said: “even if we make mistakes, we learn to play football”. We’ve been trying since the beginning of the year, it doesn’t always come, but we always try to build from behind and never throw the ball away. Today was a good match, the opponents very good. It was nice».
Who has so much to celebrate is the home coach, Alessandro Serrawho comments on the long-awaited final victory as follows: “The match was deserved and also the championship victory: the boys won all the games. It was a nice sugello, this match. Unfortunately the wind did not help, but we are happy. Over the three halves we have been good at defending at times and going on the counterattack, making good moves».
