A small village in Loir-et-Cher paid tribute to the captain of the XV of France after the Grand Slam des Bleus.
His name is on everyone’s lips in the rugby world. And it will now be on those of all the inhabitants of Pontlevoy. To pay tribute to the first Grand Slam of the XV of France since 2010, the mayor of this small town of Loir-et-Cher (41) has decided to rename the village “Dupontlevoy”, in honor of the scrum-half captain of the Blues , also voted best player of the Tournament.
A great rugby fan, Mayor Jean Louis Berthault also took the initiative of hosting the first Rugby Heritage Cup, from September 2 to 7, 2023 on the thousand-year-old site of the town’s abbey. For five days, 700 boys and girls under the age of 15 will cross swords to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the creation of the game. There is no doubt that they will be inspired by the name of the town.
