Alcalá de Henares will host the Spanish Badminton Championship for the Deaf

The Spanish Championship for the Deaf will have Swiss Ladder categories in sub-13, sub-17, sub-21 and Open21, while the OFM 2022 Championship will have a single category for doubles and will be the end of the party for this “Sports Day”. ”.

For the second deputy mayor and president of Ciudad Deportiva, Alberto Blázquez, “holding this type of event is very important in terms of the image of the city that we want to project, they represent a showcase to encourage physical activity among residents and Complutense neighbors but also to attract tourism and economic activity”.

In addition, Blázquez added that “we have a great love for this sport in the municipality, thanks also to the Alcalá Badminton Club, which has been training young athletes in our city for more than 25 years.”

For his part, the mayor of Sports, Julián Cubilla, has valued “the work carried out by the different groups, entities and municipal workers that have made it possible to celebrate this great sporting event in our city, with a National Championship for the Deaf which places Alcalá de Henares as a benchmark in the Spanish territory in this sporting discipline. Our objective, from the Government team, is to place Alcalá de Henares in a prominent place in sports at a national and international level”.

The event has the support of the City Council of Alcalá de Henares, through the Departments of Sports, Youth and Children and Health, the municipal program Another Way to Move (OFM), the Ministry of Health, LaLiga Sports, Fundación Once, the Spanish Paralympic Committee, the Spanish Sports Federation for the Deaf, the Alcalá Badminton Club and Connect your Body.
