Aleix Espargaró has taken pole position at the MotoGP Argentine Grand Prix and will start first tomorrow in the race that will be held at the circuit of Hot Springs of the Hondo River. Immense joy for the Catalan, who had not achieved such an honor since 2015 and who recovers the illusion after very irregular years.

There was no bigger smile than Aleix Espargaró’s on the South American circuit at the end of qualifying for MotoGP. He has just signed his third pole position, the first with Aprilia, and he did so after a seven-year drought. His time across the finish line (1:37.688) proved unbeatable for his rivals. A magnificent time, the best of all in the history of the Argentine track, only behind that of Márquez in 2014 (1:37.683).

A fact that serves to reflect the speed reached by Espargaró in Termas, where on Sunday he will try to achieve a victory that resists him in MotoGP. The Catalan will be escorted on the front line by Jorge Martin (Ducati) and Luca Marini (Ducati).

Behind the three of them appears another Espargaró, Pol, who was able to take his Honda to the second row. Great news for the team at Marc Márquezabsent in Argentina due to his crash in Indonesia, which in the last race had been far from the lead.

The equality of the championship was noted on the grid. The leader of the classification, Bastianinicouldn’t even get into Q2 and Binder, second in the table, will start twelfth today.
