And the best player under 21 in our league is… a surprise!

Based on eleven statistical criteria (aerial and ground duels, recoveries, passes, percussion, finishing, etc.), CIES has delivered its top 100 of the best players under the age of 21 from 32 European leagues who have played at least 1,000 minutes of play since the start of the season.

Arsenal midfielder Bukayo Saka finds himself at the top of this ranking, ahead of Mason Greenwood (Manchester United) and a surprise: Patrick Wimmer (Arminia Bielefeld).

The first representative of the Belgian championship is 44th in this ranking. And it comes as a surprise: Ameen Al-Dakhil, sold this winter by Standard to Saint-Trond. The 20-year-old central defender is ahead of Joshua Zirkzee (46th), Michel-Ange Balikwisha (54th), Stelios Andreou (69th) and Ghent midfielder Matisse Samoise (78th).

What leave regrets to the Rouches?
