This Saturday afternoon, April 2, about twenty archers from SLO archery gathered on the municipal outdoor shooting range, near the stadium, and braved almost winter weather conditions, with cold and melted snow. Supervised by Monica Vallélian, vice-president of the club, the archers took part in a somewhat special training session as they tested traditional park shooting called “3D shooting”. Over several variable and unknown distances, the young archers shot several fictitious animals unlike the usual targets. “3D” shooting is practiced on a course of 24 targets over distances ranging from 5 to 45 meters where each archer shoots two arrows per target. “The objective of this training is to allow everyone to recognize all forms of shooting as in the forest”, explained Monica Vallélian, vice-president of the club. The weekly SLO archery sessions always take place on Saturday afternoons, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., either at the municipal shooting range or on the outdoor shooting range.
