Double appointment for the Ravenna Byzantine Archers, who took part in the “5th Alfredo & Luigi Trophy” and at the first stage of the “VIII ° Quadrangular Youth Andrea Bertolino” dedicated only to the youth classes.
The weekend began with the “5th Alfredo & Luigi Trophy”the first “plate” type race of the season for the Ravenna players, who faced the 72 arrows head-on over distances ranging from 50 to 70 meters, putting themselves in evidence and placing results in all divisions and classes.
Gold medal per Denis Costantini in the men’s senior compound division, which with a score of 679 (342 + 337) sets his new personal and club record.
Again for the compound division Luca Ravaioli wins the bronze medal for the male masters category with a score of 653 (328 + 325).
A gold medal also comes from the men’s Olympic masters division, with Marcello Tozzola which is imposed on the opponents with a score of 627 (321 + 306).
However, the most full-bodied results come, once again, from the bare bow division, where the Byzantines make a killing with three individual podiums and one team podium.
Individual and company double for the male masters who monopolize the podium with a first and a third place. Second gold medal of the day for Marcello Tozzola who with a score of 609 (307 + 302) ends in front of the home athlete Roberto Roma degli Arcieri Laghesi (565). Just 4 points from second place he places Simone Pizzi which with a score of 561 (268 + 293) wins the bronze medal. It starts well too Angela Padovani with a score of 561 (272 + 289) which earned him the gold medal for the female master category.
Gold medal with 1640 points, also for the men’s master team formed by Marcello Tozzola, Simone Pizzi and Massimo Venturi. Venturi, making his long-distance debut, takes 4th individual place with 470 (254 + 216). Positioning also for Franco Bordoni 6th with 450 (234 + 216).
On Monday 25th it was the turn of the youth classes, who faced the first stage of the “VIII ° Quadrangular Youth Andrea Bertolino”, Targa type competition played on 36 arrows and with the final clashes among the best 8 overall per category.
Two individual podiums won by the young Giallorossi and several placings. Gold medal per Riccardo Venturi for the men’s compound students division which closes the competition with a score of 320. Gold medal also for Matelda Miolo for the female students naked bow division with a score of 222.
Fourth place overall for Mirko Sebastian Grassi who, with the 5th place in the category and the score of 268, gains access to the clashes. He wins the quarterfinals and snatches 3 points from the young national Francesco Gregori in the semifinals, only to have to give way in the final for third place against Iacopo Sequi for 6-4.
Clashes also for the very young Nicola Barlotti who, having closed the qualifying phase in 7th place with 242 for the Olympic division, fails to overcome the quarters and closes in 6th place overall.
Placements also for the little Viola Brunelli who finished 10th with a score of 247 for the very young women’s OL and for Nicole Morrongiello, at her debut, 11th with 211 for the women’s OL boys.
