Badminton women’s singles singles Kim Ga-eun (23, Samsung Life Insurance) made her way to the round of 16 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Ga-eun Kim won the women’s team of Singapore 2-0 (21-13 21-14) with a score of 2-0 (21-13 21-14) in the second leg of the women’s singles group K group match in badminton held at Musashinonomori Sports Plaza in Tokyo, Japan on the 28th.
Kim Ga-eun, who easily defeated Mexico’s Haramara Gaitan 2-0 (21-14 21-9) in the first game on the 24th, defeated Amin Yeo with one level of skill on the same day and advanced to the round of 16 as the first in the group.
Earlier on the previous day (27th), Se-Young Ahn (19, Samsung Life Insurance), also known as ‘Expectation Week’, also defeated Nigeria’s Dorcas Azok Adesokan 2-0 and settled into the round of 16.
Ga-eun Kim will play against Akane Yamaguchi in the round of 16 to be held on the 29th, and Se-young Ahn will face Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungpan on the same day.
