Double victory of San Marino Baseball on the first day of the Serie A championship. For the Falcons of Torre Pedrera, in the promssi and youngest team of the championships, satisfaction in the first point in the top flight.
The reigning Italian champions on the Serravalle diamond beat the guests by 12 to 1 in the first game played last night and repeated this afternoon in a match interrupted in the sixth inning for evident inferiority on 15 to 0, with 10 points of San Marino in a single inning.
In the first match the score to report the two home runs of Angulo and Leonora (who beat three hits) and the tests on the mountain of Luca Di Raffaele (4 innings) and Quattrini (3 with victory). The game opened with the first launch of Simone Albanese, to whom President Mauro Fiorini gave a commemorative plaque, followed by a minute of silence in memory of Paolo Gasparini, dean of the Italian classifiers who recently passed away.
THE CHRONICLE OF THE MATCH. The first direct challenge is already significant, because the leadoff of the Falcons who faces Luca Di Raffaele is Alessandro Beccari, the young man born in 2004 who grew up in the San Marino nursery. The home starter has the upper hand and closes the first inning without suffering points. San Marino is also at zero at 1 st, with Lino representing the third out on a good play by Beccari.
At 2nd the Torre Pedrera Falcons hit the first valid of the 2022 Serie A season and their first personal in the top national division. Torre Pedrera Falcons don’t give up and start the fourth round very well with Albini’s single and Berardi’s double. Di Raffaele fills the bases by hitting Emanuelli, eliminates Rossi at the plate but then suffers the single of the very young Greco who brings in the point (5-1).
In the lower part, a new San Marino extension with Angulo’s home run from two points (7-1) and with Leonora’s validation that sends Celli to score (8-1). At 5th it is Ferrini’s double who pushes Pulzetti (9-1) to the point, while at 6th another two-point home run, this time by Leonora, is worth 11-1. Doriano Bindi’s men then hit three more singles with Batista, Epifano and Pulzetti (12-1).
On the mountain, after Luca Di Raffaele’s four innings with 11 K, it’s the turn of Quattrini, who closes his three rounds by granting only one base ball.
The opening game ends 7th on a score of 12-1. The two teams will meet for Saturday afternoon, the playball is scheduled for 15.30.

THE CHRONICLE OF THE MATCH. The game opened with a very long shift against Alessandro Beccari.
