The Giessen 46ers’ high flight is already over. After the victory against Oldenburg, the relegation-threatened Mittelhessen were shown their limits in Heidelberg.
Relegation in the basketball league is getting more and more distant for the Giessen 46ers. Coach Pete Strobl’s team lost the duel in Heidelberg on Saturday with 81:95 (40:44). The Mittelhessen missed out on moving up to six points behind the Academics.
For one half, the 46ers were at eye level with the promoted team. Central Hesse lost the third quarter with ten points. They couldn’t catch up in the final quarter. Guard Kendale McCullum was the best thrower from Gießen with 20 points.
