Borussia Dortmund: The bitter look at the future of BVB – Bundesliga

Borussia Dortmund has played in black and yellow since 1913. But in the future it could be more black than yellow.

Was the 1: 4 against Leipzig the beginning of a turning point? Will BVB lose its status as number 2 in the league? Leipzig can still win two titles (DFB Cup, Europa League).

The future BVB manager Sebastian Kehl (42) to BILD: “Of course we try to play better, more successful football. But don’t forget that we’re still second. Still, it doesn’t feel good at the moment.”

Topic Haaland: Yes, Erling Haaland (21) is the absolute superstar in the club. When fully fit, the striker (80 goals in 83 competitive games) shoots everything into the ground. BUT: The fuss about his summer farewell (exit clause 75 million euros) not only annoys everyone in the club – the fans are tired of it too. They finally want clarity.

According to BILD information, the Norwegian will announce his departure this month. Real or Man City! It doesn’t matter – the main thing is rest!

► Topic Hummels/Reus: Zig-zag captain Marco Reus (32) no longer performs consistently, rarely exudes offensive danger. World champion Mats Hummels (33) can no longer keep the defensive tight at his age. It doesn’t help that he’s trying to sugarcoat the Leipzig bankruptcy.

With pink BVB glasses, he says on Sky: “People on Twitter are now hitting it and stuff like that. But seriously (laughs): That’s a realistic assessment. They deserved to win, but you don’t have to act as if we were played 4-1 against the wall here.” But…?

Kehl’s job is clear: He has to gently teach both well-deserved stars that their time is running out.

► Topic Coach Rose: Could he really develop the team after Favre and Terzic? no! Players have been selectively improved (Meunier, Dahoud). However, there is no sign of great progress.

BILD knows: Marco Rose (45) is not the only one to blame for this, because he had to deal with huge bad luck with injuries. That’s why he can continue next season.

► Topic Bellingham: Jude Bellingham (18) was the only one to be celebrated from the south stand after the final whistle. The fans can fully identify with his labor mentality. Problem: Although his contract runs until 2025, Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid have expressed interest.

Dortmund’s future more black than yellow? BVB can only prevent that if the upheaval works and it gets a greedy team back on its feet.
