Boyacenses stood out in the racket game

With the support of the Departmental Sports Institute of Boyacá (Indeportes), led by Luis Alberto Neira, ten athletes from the badminton league from Boyacá represented the department in the First Valid National Junior Badminton Championship that took place from March 24 to 27 at the Coliseo del Coffee Axisin Armenia (Quindío).

Badminton is a sport of racket in which two players or two pairs face each other located in opposite halves of a rectangular track divided by a net. Unlike other racket sports, badminton is not played with a ball, but with a shuttlecock.

Indeportes provided very important support to the Boyacá Badminton League. They provided all the necessary guarantees to the athletes. “This time we contribute with transportation, competition uniforms, registration, travel policies, lodging, food, snacks and hydration”, he commented, Carlos Efrain ChalapudUniversity professional of Indeportes Boyacá.

The athletes from Boyacá were participating in the sub-11, sub-13 and sub-15 categories. In the fair they measured their strength with athletes from the departments of Antioquia, Valle, Quindío, Risaralda and Santander, representing the department as follows: Yerson Alexei Torres (Under -15), Laura Sofía García (Under -15), Anderson Zamir Torres (Under – 13), Jonathan Fernando Hernández (Under – 13), Diego Alejandro Soto (Under – 13), Maikel Adrián Sánchez (Under – 13), Karen Liseth García (Under – 11), Carlos Daniel Gamboa (Under – 11 ), Nicolás Orozco Tibatá (Under-11), Sergio Daniel León (Under-11), Daren Alejandra Sáenz (Technical Assistant) and Edisson Augusto Ávila (Delegate).

For the directors of Indeportes and the coaches, this event is of great importance, since they have spent months of arduous training in order to achieve the different objectives proposed for 2022, “for us it is a very important scenario, since we have been working from the best way with our athletes and we were in the medal table dispute for the department. This will allow us to analyze our rivals for the next sporting events,” said the president of the Boyacá Badminton League, Edissón Ávila Ortega.

Also, it was confirmed that theHouse of Sport in Boyacá‘ will continue to support the participation of athletes from Boyacá with the aim of reaching the National Games in 2023 with a good level.
