Genoa, April 2, 2022. In the marvelous setting of the “RDS STADIUM” sports facility, a perfect arena with six fighting areas, the 32nd International Judo Tournament began yesterday: “Genoa City of Colombo”. The important “kermesse”, reserved for the Cadet and Juniores classes, is part of the “GRAN PRIX ITALIA” circuit and is one of the four most prestigious events of Italian judo. About a thousand athletes take part in it, very young judokas belonging to companies from all over the country, from Switzerland, France, Belgium, Spain and who will also see two Ukrainian athletes climbing on the tatami mats. Christian Calvino from Battipaglia brought the colors of our city to the top, conquering the second step of the podium. The strong judoka is in force at the “Skorpion Judo” of Eboli and is trained by the excellent Maestro Roberto Serrano. Cristian’s silver medal, relative to the “Grand Prix Cadets”, comes in the 60 kilogram category.
