Varied was the activity of the weekend promoted by the Undersecretary of Sports and Youth of the province. A campus was established, the Fuegian Games were launched, the first concentration of adapted children, and so did athletics.

A busy weekend in what was the sports activity promoted by the Undersecretary of Sports and Youth of Tierra del Fuego, given that athletes in different disciplines were concentrated in the different provincial scenarios.
1st concentration for badminton preselected
Throughout the day on Sunday, the first provincial concentration of the preselected badminton players was held, with a view to what will be their presentation at the Patagonian Games of Integration.
With athletes from Ushuaia, Tolhuin and Río Grande, the gymnasium of School No. 21 in the north of the province was the stage for the boys from all over the province to display their knowledge on the court and receive instructions from the coaches during the different technical exercises.
This was the first of several scheduled preparatory meetings for these new Regional Games that are coming up and that will take place in La Pampa in the first days of September.
The Fuegian Games were launched
Last Friday night, the official launch of the Fuegian Sports Games was held at the Jorge Muriel gym in Río Grande.
In a simple and colorful act, the Secretary of Sports, Carlos Turdo and his entire team launched these sports games that are qualifiers for the Evita National Games.
First concentration of the year for adapted sport
Last Saturday, the first concentration of adapted sports was held in our province, as a prelude to everything that will come this year with a lot of activity.
The day began at 10 in the morning at the athletics track of our city, where the athletes competed in speed races, long jump and shot and javelin throws.
While the Ana Giró gym was also another of the sports venues that were used in parallel, since practices and competitions of Goalball, Wheelchair Basketball and Boccias were held.
Finally, the Héroes de Malvinas municipal swimming pool was the epicenter for swimming, culminating a very productive day for adapted sports in our province, since more than 120 athletes from the three Fuegian cities gave the present.
An athletics technique campus was held
During the weekend, the first athletics technical campus was held for the sports schools of the Secretariat in the southern zone.
The activity was developed in the gymnasium of the Polivalent de Artes and dictated by professors Juliana Mateu and Víctor Marchisio, who coordinated the event, with the participation of boys and girls from our city, where the main purpose was to start working in the correct way of running according to the techniques of athletics.
