“The rules are the rules,” he said on Tuesday, according to the daily “Toronto Sun”. We couldn’t play in Toronto for two years because of this. Everyone laughed at us when we had to play in Dunedin.

Canada’s border restrictions require people entering the country to be properly vaccinated against COVID-19. Professional athletes are no exception to this measure.

Although this rule is also implemented in the United States, no player suffers from it, since all members of the Blue Jays are protected against the coronavirus.

Jays opponents can also place unvaccinated players on a restricted list when playing games at the Rogers Centre. The Oakland Athletics held off three athletes during their series against Team Canada last weekend.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone revealed Sunday that he will be without several unvaccinated players on the trip to Toronto, including right-handed pitcher Tanner Houck.
