Club Brugge made an offer for 19-year-old Dutchman Bjorn Meijer last weekend. The left back of first division FC Groningen, who completed the match against Ajax last weekend, is also interested in the Premier League, Serie A and the Eredivisie.

Meijer has not been in the Dutch highest class for very long. He only celebrated his debut on the last day of last season. Since December 2021, he has been a permanent member of the team at number eight in the Eredivisie. Still, Club Brugge is said to have made a significant offer for the Dutch youth international in an attempt to outrun the competition.
However, it is still not enough for Groningen. The Dutch middle engine hopes for the jackpot and thinks of amounts around 5 million, which is a bridge too far for Club. Both clubs will therefore have to add water to the wine if it is to come to a transfer. Also Groningen, because Meijer no longer plans to extend his contract (until 2023 with option). And so a summer departure seems best for all parties.
Blauw-Zwart previously tried to pluck a young Dutch left back from the Eredivisie with Tyrell Malacia, but that turned out to be far too expensive.
