D1B: Westerlo can be crowned champion on Saturday night in Lommel

Westerlo left the Jupiler Pro League at the end of the 2016-2017 season. Two years later, the club was taken over by Turkish businessman Oktay Erçan. In the event of a defeat or a sharing of Westerlo in Lommel on Saturday, we would have to wait for the result of the Molenbekois on Sunday (8:00 p.m.) in Deinze. The RWDM themselves have a 7-point lead over Waasland-Beveren, 3rd, and are therefore very close to a play-off (back and forth at the end of April) against the 17th in the Jupiler Pro League, which could well be Seraing.

This 26th day of D1B will begin Friday evening with a duel between Lierse and Waasland-Beveren and all eyes will also be on the bottom of the classification where Virton, 8th and lantern, red, is 9 points behind Lommel. The Luxembourg club receives Mouscron on Sunday (4:00 p.m.) but knows its future is more than threatened in D1B.
