The Madrid Tennis Federation (FTM) and Decathlon have signed a collaboration agreement this Friday to show their support for tennis in Madrid and reinforce the practice of this sport in the region, according to reports from the sports equipment design and distribution company in a release.
To do this, they will be carried out from aid to promote tennis and tournaments for fans, with an amount of 300 euros for all the Madrid clubs that organize them, exchangeable for sports equipment in Decathlon stores.
In addition, a specific ‘Club’ space will be created for clubs with special prices on those products necessary for their development, and they will be invited to join its affiliation program so that they can recommend products and obtain commissions both for their sale and for their consumption. . Currently, the FTM has more than 100 affiliated clubs.
Likewise, actions will be carried out for the little ones, with a program to promote the integration of this sport in Madrid schools. Those interested in starting out in tennis will be able to purchase the federative license for free at Decathlon stores in the region.
The company has a firm commitment to developing its activity in a sustainable manner. For this reason, thanks to this agreement it will also offer the possibility of participating in its Upcycling program for used balls to all tennis clubs in Madrid. Thus, it will make its centers in the community available to you with the aim of guaranteeing adequate treatment of used balls through a clean and sustainable system.
Lastly, Decathlon, together with the Madrid Tennis Federation, will create a shared job bank to offer and promote the entry into the labor market of personnel trained by both entities.

Juan Luis Rascón Lope, president of the Madrid Tennis Federation, has assured that: “For the FTM, this agreement with Decathlon is a very powerful way of supporting tennis in Madrid thanks to the strength and experience that the company has in Spain and in Bringing the federation closer to Decathlon stores is essential for the practice of our sport and for its growth, thus strengthening the strategic line that the FTM has set for itself in order to exponentially develop amateur tennis. With this signature we also extend our support to clubs and athletes, with financial aid and material at much better prices”.
With the signing of this agreement, the Madrid Tennis Federation, with more than 18,000 federative licences, thus reinforces its objective of being close to Madrid clubs, listening to their needs and offering them the best alternatives and proposals for improvement and growth.
And it continues to expand its program of aid to clubs included in its 2021-24 Operational Plan, which also includes, among other actions, subsidies to clubs of 50,000 euros that will be paid throughout 2022.
