Sveva Lucera won the big match of the 25th round against Limongelli Dinamo Basket Brindisi for 72-52, rejecting the onslaught of the people from Brindisi who – in case of victory – would have mathematically won the promotion to Serie C Gold.
The building in Viale Canova di Lucera with the large audience present (including about fifty who arrived by bus from Brindisi) was the setting for a match that was immediately fought and vibrant. Both between the Lucerini and the Brindisi players the tension of a game with an important ranking value with physical defenses and many shooting errors in the first minutes of the game was evident. In the last time the Sveva seemed to have more while for the travelers the percentages from the arch were lowered further. The hosts increased the pace in defense by forcing the guests to lose several balls. Gramazio and Scarponi struck from the arc while the blue-white attack was completely jammed with the players from Brindisi who did not score for over seven minutes of play. Lucera took advantage of this by scoring important baskets supported by the large audience present and taking home a fundamental victory for the dauno club.
At Dinamo a really bad day with very low three-point shooting percentages (2/28 from 3 points) and 23 turnovers that contain the terms of the defeat while for Sveva the Italian trio Gramazio, De Ianni and Scarponi are in great evidence author of 56 points out of the 72 team totals.
