end of suspense for the future of Mohamed Salah!

What’s next after this ad

Between the players at the end of the contract at the end of the season and those whose lease ends in a year, we can say that there are beautiful people. Kylian Mbappé, Paul Pogba, Robert Lewandowski… The biggest stars of the football planet have already been at the heart of rumors for several months, and this was also the case for Mohamed Salah. A Liverpool player since the summer of 2017, the 29-year-old winger quickly became an indispensable part of the Anfield side, as evidenced again this season by his 28 goals and 10 caviars in 37 appearances in all competitions.

A very important player therefore for the Reds but whose contract ends in June 2023. And while the principal concerned has, on several occasions, expressed his desire to extend the adventure with the English club, the discussions between all the parties either came to nothing, or never moved forward. But all that was before this weekend and the latest revelations from the Sunday Mirror on the other side of the Channel.

A stratospheric salary to come

As reported by the British media, the Egyptian international (82 caps, 45 goals) recently changed his mind about his future. After turning down an offer with a weekly salary of around £400,000, or around €475,000, the former AS Roma side is now ready to sign a new deal with the Reds. The Sunday Mirror indeed claims that the number 11 of Liverpool will make concessions on his initial request, namely to touch around like Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United (£500,000, or €593,000 per week).

Regarding the duration of the new contract, no information is revealed but there is no doubt that Mohamed Salah should stay a few more years with the residents of Anfield, who are currently fighting with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League standings for the title. Good news for Liverpool but very bad news for the Egyptian courtiers, like FC Barcelona or even Paris Saint-Germain.
