Lazio talent Raul Moro was attacked and robbed by a group of men. He’s not the first victim of a criminal attack in Rome.
Lazio’s Raul Moro was beaten and robbed by a group of men posing as police officers. The club confirmed this ESPN. It’s not the first case involving footballers in the Italian capital.
The latest incident happened around 11 p.m. on Thursday: Lazio top talent Raul Moro was stopped in Rome by a group of four men posing as police officers.
They attacked Moro and his father, who was also in the car, with punches. Both were later admitted to a local hospital. The perpetrators also stole the 19-year-old’s car, a Mercedes A-Class, but later abandoned it in the city. The vehicle was seized by the police.
Moro is not the first footballer to fall victim to a criminal attack in Rome
The Spanish U-21 player joined Lazio from FC Barcelona in 2019 and made his breakthrough in Rome this season.
He is not the first footballer to fall victim to a criminal attack in Rome: in February, Lazio midfielder Tomas Basic was robbed at gunpoint and a luxury watch was stolen from him. In April 2021, Rome’s defender Chris Smalling had valuable items including jewelry and watches stolen when gunmen broke into his home.
