In the BILD program “Bayern Insider”, football boss Christian Falk talks about the record champions’ mishap in the 4-1 win in Freiburg. In the meantime, the record champions had twelve (!) men on the field. The game could now be counted as a defeat at the green table.

Trigger: Bayern’s team manager Kathleen Krüger (36) held up the “29” on the change board, Coman’s old number and not his new one, “11”. That caused confusion. The winger didn’t feel addressed and didn’t leave the field. Ultimately, there was one player too many on the pitch for around 20 seconds.
BILD reporter Christian Falk: “I know her (Kathleen Krüger; editor’s note) really, really well. She’s really very meticulous. I don’t think she slept a wink tonight. She’s not solely guilty, I would say. Actually, it is the job of the fourth referee, he has to count.”

The ex-Bayern player (261 games) on the strange scenes: “It is undisputed that Kathleen Krüger gave the wrong number. But that can happen. It’s human, when a player has played a number for so long, it’s stored away so instinctively. What surprised me is that the fourth official let the players in so easily. I know it differently, the player has to come out first so that the other one goes in. Or it is clearly indicated that the player is going out on the other side. That bothered and irritated me. This is a concatenation of several errors. I find it complete nonsense to blame Kathleen Krüger alone.”
