The end of the disaster season is becoming clearer in Los Angeles, since the Lakers should miss the accession to the play-in tournament. Departures are therefore to be expected, and one of them, a major, seems to have already taken place if we are to believe the information from Bleacher Report…
A defeat on Tuesday against the Suns, combined with a parallel victory for the Spurs in Denver, and the verdict will then be official. Before these two important deadlines, the fate of the Lakers seems to have already been decided. With two games behind the Texans in the standings, and the tie-breaker in favor of the latter, a premature end to the season seems inevitable. Something to anticipate an eventful summer in the City of Angels.
Frank Vogel, first victim of the Lakers’ setbacks?
Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, and even LeBron James have all found themselves in transfer rumors in recent weeks. However, it is not necessarily only the Los Angeles roster that could be impacted by the poor results of the franchise. Indeed, it could be that the coaching staff is also turned upside down during the off-season, starting with its leader, Frank Vogel!
The Lakers and Frank Vogel are expected to part ways after the season, per B/R’s @JakeLFischer

The Lakers and Frank Vogel should end their cooperation at the end of the season according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.
Very criticized for the game developed by LA this season, Vogel can no longer count on the defensive DNA that he had been able to transmit to his players over the last two years. His contract should therefore not be renewed in the coming months, and a candidate for his position would hold the rope according to Fischer.
As Marc Stein originally reported, Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder is perhaps the most mentioned possible Vogel replacement in the league. Currently, he remains rooted in Utah (…) but that does not prevent rumors that Snyder, assistant coach of the Lakers in 2011-12, could be inclined to leave the Jazz at the end of the season, especially since Utah is also falling in the Western Conference standings.
Other names of potential successors listed by the reporter include 76ers coach Doc Rivers, who would increasingly find himself in an ejection seat in Philadelphia, but also Kurt Rambis, Mike Brown and Steve Clifford. Anyway, the selected profile should have more or less important liabilities with the Purple & Gold franchise.
Great craftsman of the title in 2020, Frank Vogel should not be retained by the staff of the Lakers within a few weeks. The beginning, no doubt, of a big cleaning within the team this summer!
