The first inclusive games in history

On October 7, 2021, the first competition was held where 170 Olympic and Paralympic athletes Spaniards competed together in different disciplines through inclusive regulations. This initiative is part of Sanitas Foundation with the collaboration of the Higher Sports Council, the Spanish Olympic Committee, the Spanish Paralympic Committee and the sports and disability federations. With the aim of showing that inclusive sport is possible at the highest level.

Facilities

The Inclusive Games took place in unique facilities: the Madrid High Performance Center of the Higher Sports Council. For this, the following were used: the athletics track, 2 covered pavilions, the badminton court, the 50m swimming pool and the adjoining rugby field of the Complutense University of Madrid. The facilities were adapted to be inclusive and any athlete could participate without barriers.

Nine different disciplines in which athletes with and without disabilities competed together. Inclusive regulations created by the Spanish sports and disability federations were used FINE, PRAYER, FEDC, FEDPC, FEDS, FETRI, RFEN, FESBA, RFETM, RFEA, FERUGBY, RFEJUDO y RFETAEKWONDOwith him Higher Sports Council, Spanish Olympic Committee, Spanish Paralympic Committee and the Sanitas Foundation Chair of Studies on Inclusive Sport.
