Five Chihuahuans go to the National Judo – El Heraldo de Chihuahua

Five representatives of the Dojo Kodo Kan Madrid qualified for the Conade National Judo Tournament 2022, after a great performance in the Macro Regional stage that took place in Aguascalientes on April 12 and 13.

Priscila Madrid Franco got her ticket in the -53 kilos category, Mildred Daniela Ontiveros did the same in the -44 kilos category; Dylan Rodríguez Salas joined them by being among the best in <58 kilos, as well as Jorge Chavira in -64 kilos and finally, Fernando Yeray Santillanes got his ticket to attend the national phase in +64 kilograms.

The five Chihuahuan judokas excelled in the competition in hydro-warm territory, giving a great fight against rivals who represented other states in the north of the country such as Sinaloa, Sonora, Baja California Norte, Baja California Sur, Durango, Zacatecas and from the venue, Aguascalientes.

Under the tutelage of sensei Fernando Madrid Gardea, these five athletes demonstrated great quality and technique throughout their fights, as a result of their dedication to their training and their great love for this discipline of judo.

In the near future, all of them will be taking part in the national phase of Conade 2022, which has tentative dates on June 28, 29 and 30, continuing on July 1 and 2, at a venue yet to be confirmed, which could well be Mexico City or Sinaloa.

The importance of this competition lies in the fact that it will be selective in order to form the Mexican delegation that would later be participating in the Pan-American Judo fair, possibly in Colombia.

Sensei Fernando Madrid expressed his satisfaction and pride for the role his pupils played in Aguascalientes.

Regarding the near future, the sensei is confident that good results will be obtained, “Priscila and Dylan are the ones with the most experience. I think we have many possibilities to continue advancing towards the Pan American and for that we will continue working hard”, he concluded.
