Formidable competitor for Poldervaart: De Graafschap has a second coach in mind

De Graafschap is not only thinking of Adrie Poldervaart in the search for a new trainer. Jan Vreman is also high on the list of De Superboeren, technical manager Peter Bijvelds confirms to the Gelderlander.

Although Poldervaart is the biggest contender, it is not a foregone conclusion that the current FC Groningen assistant will work at De Vijverberg. Vreman is also a ‘very important candidate’. The club icon is currently already doing the honors after the resignation of Reinier Robbemond. He was also at the helm of De Graafschap between 2014 and 2016, which he then led to the Eredivisie.

Bijvelds says that the Doetinchemmers are currently in talks with several trainers. “We want to quickly reduce the list to two candidates and there is a good chance that Jan will be among them”, the technical manager said the Gelderlander† “I told him that we see him as a candidate. Jan is now just doing his job and he is doing it excellent.”

Under Vreman, there is progress in De Graafschap’s game, but the results are still behind with four points from the last five matches. With a ninth place in the Kitchen Champion Division, participation in the play-offs is by no means certain. Number eight NAC Breda has four points more.
