Laurent Horter died on Monday April 4, according to his family who confirmed it to France Bleu Alsace. In 1962, he founded the Mulhouse Olympic Natation (MON), since chaired by his sons Franck and Lionel. A club which has seen great swimmers such as Laure Manaudou, Amaury Leveaux and Roxana Maracineanu, the current Minister of Sports, in recent years.

In recent years, the Mulhouse swimming club and the Horter family have had to face many difficulties, financial and legal, before being upset by the Yannick Agnel affair. Laurent Horter was 89 years old.
