Four tricolor tennis players were left out of the Mexico City Open

Four Mexican rackets were left out of the Mexico City Open 2022in what was a complicated Sunday in the activity that took place at the Chapultepec Sports Center.

Luis Patino, Manuel Sanchez, Armando Sotelo and Alonso Delgado they did not achieve the goal of entering the main draw, in a Sunday session that included 12 games.

Patiño lost 6-4 and 6-2 against the Japanese Shintaro Mochizukidespite having opportunities that he failed to realize during the first set.

While, Manuel Sánchez succumbed in straight sets 6-3 and 6-3 against German Elmar Ejupovicwhile the youthful Armando Sotelo was defeated by the Chinese Zhizhen Zhang with a score of 6-3 and 6-1.

“I made good shots, I didn’t play my serve very well, but other than that I think I did well”, explained Sotelo, who after this opportunity will focus on continuing his process as a junior in ITF tournaments.

Finally, Alonso Delgado closed the Mexican participation at the Rafael ‘Pelón’ Osuna during the qualifying tournament with a defeat against the Swiss Jakub Paul by 6-2 and 6-2.

“From the beginning it was difficult for me to get into the points and be more solid with groundstrokes,” Delgado said.
