France dominates the European Cup Cadets in Strasbourg

The young cadets of the France team won 33 medals (8 gold, 9 silver and 16 bronze) during the European Cup Cadets contested in Strasbourg.

The tricolor succession is already at the rendezvous in judo. The young cadets who have just played in the European Cup Cadets in Strasbourg will of course be too young to hope to take part in the Paris 2024 Games. the France team was able to send a strong message to the other nations involved in the competition.

First place in the nations ranking

The Blues finish in first place in the nations ranking, ahead of Great Britain and Azerbaijan. A performance achieved thanks to the 33 medals obtained throughout the competition. Among these many charms, eight titles are to be highlighted: Alyssia Poulange (-48kg), Kais Guettari (-50kg), Zacharie Dijol (-55kg), Doria Boursas (-63kg), Kylian Noël (-66kg), Léonie Minkada-Caquineau (+70kg), Thoma Puchly (-81kg) and Keziah Harvent (-90kg). Also with nine silver medals and sixteen bronze medals, France showed that it was capable of shining in all the categories offered during the event.

Noteworthy services

More than 350 young judokas, from 20 different nations, were in action on the Alsatian mats during this event. Taking advantage of a European competition organized “at home”, the young French judokas were present in large numbers and therefore validated this strong presence with remarkable performances.

For the French Judo Federation, satisfaction is obviously there after this competition experienced at home. The French teams are used to shining in the different categories of young people, including among the cadets. An excellent assessment which will make it possible to prepare for future deadlines and to identify the most promising elements in order to continue to accompany them in their progress.
