GUADALAJARA, Jal., April 7, 2022.- Atlas resumed the path of victory. Their offensive duo appeared and with that they got three important points to stay in the fight to qualify directly for the Playoffs, avoiding the playoffs. Julio Furch and Julián Quiñones scored the goals with which the Foxes beat Necaxa 2-1, this Thursday night, opening date 13 of the Clausura 2022 at the Jalisco Stadium.
In the first half, the Rojinegros were superior at times, but the Rayos did not give up going in search of something. At minute 16, Jeremy Márquez shot after a rebound from a corner kick. Aldo Rocha diverted and on the line Luis Ángel Malagón reacted in a great way. The rebound was left to Martín Nervo, but again the visiting goalkeeper blocked the shot. The play, despite the emotion, was annulled for being out of place.
The goalkeeper of the Rayos had a great intervention in ’23, to deflect a header from Anderson Santamaría, in a corner kick. The visiting squad was about to open the scoring at ’34, when Rodrigo Aguirre recovered outside the area and took a left-footed shot that went to the goal, near the base of the post, but Camilo Vargas dived to deflect a corner kick.
Gaddi Aguirre forgave the ’41, when the Necaxa goalkeeper had gone wrong, but finished over the goal. The insistence was great and finally, Atlas was able to open the scoring. Julián Quiñones opened to the right for José Javier Abella, who lifted the cross past. Julio Furch won from above and with a cross header, finally overcame Malagón, for 1-0, at ’42.
Before the break, Camilo Vargas made a mistake when receiving a delayed ball. He was slow to clear and when he did, he bounced the ball off Rodrigo Aguirre and it ended up in the nets. Fortunately for the Foxes, the play was invalidated because he hit the Uruguayan’s hand. Thus, the Guadalajara team could go to rest with an advantage on the scoreboard.
But at the start of the complementary part, a hard blow for the Atlas. Dieter Villalpando threw a deep, lofty pass. Rodrigo Aguirre chased him to reach him inside the area. Before he hit the turf, he volleyed that pass. Relentless left foot that surpassed Camilo Vargas. Great goal from Necaxa for 1-1, at ’48.
Later the controversy appeared, when Heriberto Jurado came sweeping to clear a center. He touched the ball with his left leg and immediately hit his hand. Atlas asked for a penalty. The referee reviewed the repetitions in the VAR and determined not to mark it, at ’60. Nine minutes later, Necaxa was left with the cry of goal in his throat, when Fabricio Formiliano finished off the crossbar.
The stellar offensive duo of the Foxes appeared in ’71. Julián Quiñones yielded to Julio Furch with his chest. The Colombian gave the perfect time for the movement of the Colombian, who dived into space. The elevated touch, behind the defense, was exact. Inside the area, Julián went down with his chest, while the visitors asked for a hand and defined with a crossed left-footed shot for 2-1, at ’71
There was no more in the Jalisco Stadium, despite the fact that the visitor ended up thrown to the front. With the victory, the Atlas reached 22 points and is in fourth place in the standings. Necaxa, meanwhile, stagnated at number 13, with 14 units.
