Harry Maguire Receives Bomb Threat, Police Intervene

Chesire

Harry Maguire receives a bomb threat at his home. The Manchester United defender immediately reported the matter to the authorities.

Sky Sports reported on Thursday (21/4/2022), Maguire reported the threat he received to the Cheshire Police, who immediately carried out a sweep at the 29-year-old player’s residence.

“On Wednesday, April 20, Cheshire Police received a report of a bomb threat at an address in the Wilmslow area,” a Cheshire Police statement read.

“No evacuation measures have been taken, but as a precautionary measure, sniffer dogs arrived at the address in question on the afternoon of April 21 to conduct a search of the park and surrounding area,” the statement continued.

Maguire lives with his fiancé, Fern Hawkins and their two children. He also asked for privacy for this incident.

“Over the past 24 hours, Harry has received serious threats directed at his home. He reported this to the police, who are now working on this matter. Family safety is Harry’s priority at this time,” a spokesperson for Maguire said.

“He will continue preparations for this weekend’s match as usual and we will not comment further at this time,” explained the spokesman.

This threat came after Manchester United were brushed by Liverpool 0-4 at Anfield on April 19, England time. Throughout this season, Maguire has often received criticism for a number of errors he made with Manchester United.

Even so, he is a mainstay of England’s defender and will almost certainly leave for Qatar if he is not injured. Manchester United will next face Arsenal on Saturday (23/4) at 18.30 WIB.
