Hope Solo, One of History’s Greatest Goalkeepers, Tackles Alcohol Addiction | women football

Hope Solo is no small name in women’s football. On the contrary.

She played more than 200 caps for the US and with the US team she became world champion in 2015 and won gold at the 2008 and 2012 Games.

Earlier this month, Solo was arrested in a shopping center parking lot. She was charged with child abuse, resisting arrest and driving under the influence.

Solo has now taken to social media to let it be known that she wants to address her issues. She enters rehab and asks that her induction into the Hall of Fame, scheduled for next month, be postponed.

“Currently, my energy and focus is on my health, my recovery and my family,” Solo writes. “I want to thank the Hall of Fame for their support and understanding.”
