Hope Solo: US soccer icon arrested – one detail is particularly bad – soccer

She was once the best goalkeeper in the world – now she’s causing a scandal again!

US soccer legend Hope Solo (40) was arrested in North Carolina on Thursday for drunk driving and resisting arrest. This is reported by TMZ.

Particularly bad: As reported by the police, her two children were in the car when the 202-time international was caught.

The two-time Olympic and 2015 World Championships winner – was arrested in a Walmart parking lot at Parkway Village Circle in Winston-Salem, North Carolina… and then taken to the Forsyth County Jail for investigation.

According to official information, the reasons for the arrest were driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest and child abuse.

Solo has since been released and is at home with her family. This was announced by Rich Nichols, her husband Jerramy Stevens’ (42) lawyer, in a statement.

Nichols: “On the advice of her lawyer, Hope cannot speak about the incident at this time, but she would like to emphasize that her children are her life, that she was released immediately and is now at home with her family, that the story is not that bad, as the allegations suggest, and that she looks forward to the opportunity to defend herself against these allegations.”

It’s not the first time the former keeper has run into trouble with the law.

Solo has already been arrested for domestic violence. In 2015, she allegedly verbally abused a police officer and threatened to “kick his butt”. She was also arrested for allegedly being involved in a physical altercation with her teenage nephew.

Solo is married to ex-NFL player Jerramy Stevens. The two have twins who just celebrated their second birthday. It’s not yet entirely certain whether the children in the car were the twins, but it seems likely.

If Solo is now convicted, the US icon even faces imprisonment.
