The Villa de Cartaya Cultural Center hosted the XXXIII Huelva Sports Gala which, led by the journalist Roberto Gómez, awarded the awards to the best Huelva athletes of the past year 2021, which was sponsored by the Provincial Council of Huelva, the City Council de Cartaya and El Corte Inglés With the presentation made by the mayor of the municipality, Josefa Inmaculada González Bayo, she highlighted the local government’s commitment to promoting sport as well as its values for the little ones, something that they united in their different messages each and every one of the winners.
The Moguereño artist, Nicolás Capelo, performed two boleros from his latest album with the company of two tango dancers who performed a majestic dance on the stage of the Cartaya cultural center. The journalists from Huelva awarded José Luis Cisneros as a revelation athlete (the deputy secretary of the AOPD, Alejandro Ramos, gave the award); athlete adapted to Blanca Betanzos (delivered by the secretary of the AOPD Félix B. Camacho Malo); best sporting event for the 2022 Huelva Badminton World Cup, which was received by councilor María Teresa Flores on behalf of the city council of the capital (the president of the Huelva Press Association, Juan F. Caballero, delivered the award); the best provincial club was the Assyrian Archery Club whose award was collected by its president José María Cuenca (presented by the president of the Professional Association of Andalusian Journalists in Huelva, José Ángel González); sports legend for Manolo Espina (delivered by the president of the Huelva Football Federation, José Antonio Fernández); best leader Paco Ojeda (presented by the vice president of the AOPD Jesús Pulido); human values Juan Bautista ‘Chamba’ (presented by the director of Teleonuba, Antonio Suárez Candilejos); best trainer for Inmaculada Márquez (delivered by the director of El Corte Inglés de Huelva, Manuel Vargas); there was a special mention to the AD Cartaya (delivered by the councilor for sports of the Cartaya City Council, Israel Medina); in memoriam to Juan Antonio González Camacho (presented by the member of the association, Domingo Martín); local sports career to Alejandro Marañón (delivered by the mayor of Cartaya, Josefa Inmaculada González Bayo); athlete with the greatest projection Daniel Marín (delivered by Juan Ignacio García, representative of the Andalusian Federation of Sports Journalists); sports promotion to Huelva Extrema, which was received by the vice-president María Lourdes Martín Palanco representing the Provincial Council (presented by the president of Recreativo de Huelva, José Antonio Sotomayor); and gold mentions to the swimmer David Sánchez that María Lourdes Martín delivered.
