The tie between two of the worst teams so far in 2022, a stretch in which only Ceares’ score is lower, entangles the objectives of Real Avilés and Compostela, who maintained a fight more charged with mutual respect than anything else.

The game, beyond the emotion that the points embody, offered very little. It is not that the highlight was the touch of the ball that Paula Fernández, Xana of the Pascual Festivities of El Bollo, made in the honorary preliminaries, but it is that the contenders did not show much more either. Perhaps it is this anxiety, that Real Avilés did not expect to suffer at this point and that Compostela also suffers from their nine consecutive games without winning, the cause of the little they proposed yesterday.

Put to measure the urgencies, that the locals played more was not an obstacle for Compostela to take command and make more of an appearance in the opposite area. In the 22nd minute, Davo Armengol showed his speed of movement to disrupt Pablo Durán’s intentions at the penalty spot, but he couldn’t do the same three minutes later, when, after “eating” a low cross from Rodri Escudero, the goalkeeper made it easier for Pablo Durán to enter the goal with the ball. Something that Real Avilés is showing with some frequency is its high effectiveness, since lately it converts the few it generates. This was the case in the 34th minute with Sergio García and his shot from the outside, from the edge of the box and through the top corner. That was the end of the purpose for which the Galician coach, Rodri Veiga, was especially predisposed, that of keeping the goal intact, which he only achieved once outside of Galicia. Later, given the lack of offensive arguments in each other, it was the turn for defensive concessions in two badly countered corner kicks. Pablo Antas’s header was followed by Jorge Morcillo’s left-footed volley, valid for Real Avilés to continue, at least, balancing on the wire.
