Inter-University Basketball Tournament in Van has ended

Organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation and hosted by our University on April 4 – 8, 2022, the ‘Inter-University 1st League Basketball Group Championships’, in which 10 teams, 3 women and 7 men, from eight cities, competed, ended with the award ceremony.

İnönü University Men’s Basketball Team won the first place in the Men’s category in the Inter-University 1st League Basketball Group Championships held at the Van Yüzüncü University sports complex. In the same category, Dicle University Men’s Basketball Team took the second place and Adıyaman University Men’s Basketball Team took the third place.

The award went to İnönü University, which came first in the group in the men’s category, by Rector Prof. Dr. Presented by Hamdullah Şevli. The award to the runner-up team was given to Assoc. Dr. Muzaffer Selçuk presented the award to the third place team, and Cahit Tekin presented the award.

Atatürk University Women’s Basketball Team won the first place in the Women’s category in the Inter-University 1st League Basketball Group Championship Competitions. In the same category, Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Women’s Basketball Team won the second place, while Dicle University Women’s Basketball Team took the third place.

Atatürk University, which was the group winner in the women’s category, could not attend the award ceremony because there were league matches. The second prize to the Van Yüzüncü Yıl University team was given to the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Şenay Baydaş presented the third prize to the Dicle University team, while Prof. Dr. Fevzi Özgökçe gave it to him.

At the award ceremony, which ended with a photo shoot; Rector Prof. Dr. Hamdullah Şevli and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Şenay Baydaş, Dean of the Maritime Faculty Prof. Dr. Fevzi Özgökçe, Representative of the University Sports Federation Münir Kurudirek, Director of the School of Physical Education and Sports Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Selçuk, Secretary General Cahit Tekin, Deputy Secretary General Muzaffer Otacı, Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department Vedat Atay, academic staff and many students took part.
