At the Allianz Dome in Trieste the hosts of the Trieste basketball are defeated for 92-81 from the Virtus Segafredo Bologna after a match played with great intensity by both teams. First half essentially dominated by the black “Vs”, who, however, in the second half suffer the return of the Giulians, especially in the last period, but managing to bring home the tenth win in a row. Below are the match reports.
ALLIANZ BASKETBALL TRIESTE
Banks 7: he tries to be the driver in the moments that matter, he puts his soul into a game that he feels particularly. He closes with 27 points and 6 rebounds.
Davis 5,5: a lot of good will but little incisiveness both in the offensive phase. The 3 points and 4 final assists make it clear, but in defense he does a great job and you can hear it.
Note 5: at times he seems to have found desire and perseverance, but it is still not enough to be the player we admired in the first matches.
Deangeli 6: commitment and humility are not lacking in the Trieste “mule” who always shows he cared a lot for the shirt he wears.
Mian 4,5: not his best match since he was in Trieste, as shown by the minutes and his final statistics (only 2 points on the scoresheet).
Delia 6: he does what he can against the long virtuosi, ardently defending and bringing a good booty of points to the Julian cause. He closes with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
Fantoma SV : never on the parquet in this match and therefore not judged.
Knight 5: as a true captain he tries to help his team in the most complicated moment, pushing them towards a comeback, but he can give much more.
Campogrande 5,5: honest trial, no ups and downs. The right is committed, but more can be given.
Thank you 6.5: excellent performance of the Latvian basketball player, he starts quietly but then takes the measurements for the game and plays with determination and courage.
Lever 5: not a great test that of the native of Bolzano, dull and undertone in a race in which the physicality of the opponents suffers too often.
Coach Ciani 5.5: against this Virtus it was difficult, but his team reacted in the right way after the big initial disadvantage. The players seem, in fact, to have regained the determination that was missing for some time.
SEGAFREDO BOLOGNA
Weavers 5: more awkward and imprecise than usual, he doesn’t play a great game. 4 points and 6 rebounds is his final score.
Lanyard 6.5: cunning and dynamism for the French who often and willingly solves the “problems” of his team. He closes with 12 points, all fundamental.
Mannion 5: not very precise and out of the game for several minutes, he closed with six points a game that he did not play well from the start.
Pajola 6: usual excellent game of substance, made up of defense and pressure on the opponent. He cannot fail to have the sufficiency.
Alibegovic 5: he is very wrong, especially in the moments that matter and under the basket he is not the usual player that we have come to know in recent times.
Ruzzier SV: a few minutes on the parquet and therefore performance cannot be evaluated.
Jaiteh 7.5: in the painted it makes you feel muscles and centimeters, being decisive for the result. He closes with a double double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Shengelia 6,5: his talent makes the difference in the most difficult situations, especially when Trieste decides to defend. Only 9 points and 5 rebounds deceive and do not do justice to the proof of him.
Hackett 6,5: usual proof of character and cunning that of the former CSKA, who scores 9 points and fans 3 assists and proves to be decisive even in defense.
Sampson 5: very few minutes on the pitch for the American long, who was not the protagonist of his best game.
Weems 7: present and decisive when it counts, he is probably the best of the bianconeri in this match. The final 16 points are confirmation of this and all weigh on the final result.
Teodosic 6: gives flashes of talent and basketball intelligence in different moments of the match, collecting 8 points and 4 assists. Enough and advance this to win tonight.
Coach Scariolo 6.5: his team got off to a great start and immediately made his opponents feel what he was made of by following his instructions. Then there is no lack of talent and even in the most complicated situations just a brushed-off is enough to awaken and bring home a victory that means 10 consecutive Ws.
A writer by passion, born and raised in Trieste, close to the eastern border, he breathed the air of great basketball from an early age following the exploits of Meneghin, Gentile, Fucka and Bodiroga. His passion for the ball in wedges continued, even away from home, passing from the pitch to the whistle, until he landed at Basket Universo, a newspaper with which he began to collaborate in March 2015. His love overseas was, is and it will always be for one unforgettable player: the “Black Mamba”.
