James Rodríguez overcomes injury and returns to Al Rayyan’s training for the Asian Champions | Colombians Abroad

News comes from James Rodriguez in Al-Rayyan and that, in itself, is already good news, considering the veil of mystery that surrounds its current situation.

The Colombian returned to Al Rayyan’s training and that means that could be available, finally, to debut in the AFC Champions League, of which he has already lost two games.

Al-Rayyan defeated FC Istiklol Dushanbe 2-3 but fell 3-0 against Gustavo Cuéllar’s Al Hilal, for which they will need a victory this Friday, in the duel against Sharjah FC of the United Arab Emirates to return to the zone qualifying for the final phases of the tournament, which is in its first stage.

Why was it not available? As always, a total mystery. Coach Nicolás Córdova limited himself to denying that it was due to an act of rebellion and only said that he did not play because “he was injured.” About what? It’s bad? Apparently not. But that is only known now that he returns to training.

James played his last game for Al-Rayyan more than a month ago, on March 5 in a loss to Al Wahrah in the Emir’s Cup quarterfinals. His balance is 14 games, with 5 goals and 7 assists, a fact that, seen this way, does not seem worrying, except that he has lost 13 games since his arrival, a bad deal considering that he is the most expensive player in the squad.

Now he has a rematch again, at a critical moment for Al-RAyyan. Watching him train augurs an almost certain presence on the court this Friday. But in his case anything can happen.
